I don’t consider myself celebrity obsessed but I have always been drawn to the allure of Hollywood.
I even took a cross-country trip to Southern California just to get a glimpse of the famous Hollywood sign and to place my hands and feet in the celebrity handprints and footprints outside the iconic TCL Chinese Theater.
Based on recommendations of friends, I was careful to select a hotel in a convenient and safe location to the Hollywood highlights.
Star Treatment at Loews Hollywood Hotel
Located at the famous intersection of Hollywood and Highland avenues, the Loews Hollywood Hotel is located near to the iconic Hollywood Sign, and it is always within sight. Stay at this hotel and you’ll see why it received the 2025 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award. From the easy front desk check-in process and the fact that a bellman carried our suitcases directly to our room, Loews Hollywood Hotel demonstrates Hollywood luxury with a nice touch of “star” treatment.
It’s a big hotel, 628 luxurious guestrooms and suites and features a very cool rooftop pool. It’s within walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl and near to Universal Studios Hollywood. The fifth-story heated pool and terrace was my favorite part of the hotel, and the view was spectacular.

Nearby Hollywood Attractions You Must See
As nice and great an experience it was to stay at the Loews Hollywood Hotel, Hollywood is an incredible experience, especially if you appreciate the history of television and movies and get excited to see the “homes of famous celebrities.” And that’s what makes this hotel special as it knows just how to enhance a hotel guest’s visit to Hollywood. Ovation Hollywood is set around the hotel, a great choice for shopping, dining, or taking a stroll to the Hollywood Bowl.

Universal Studios Hollywood also features an outstanding behind the scenes, world-famous Studio Tour that explores real film sets where Hollywood movies are still made today. There are also theme park rides, shows, and attractions including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™.
Hollywood Bowl is an outdoor amphitheater – 18,000-seat venue, hosting concerts among Hollywood Hills. When visiting Hollywood, be sure to look at the concert schedule to get tickets.
TCL Chinese Theater was my favorite! Filled with handprints and footprints of famous Hollywood celebrities makes it a real treat. Allow a few hours to walk around. It gets very crowded with tourists all visiting the location for the same reason, measuring their hands and feet with those of their favorite icons.
Hollywood Walk of Fame was equally thrilling. Another crowded tourist spot, but so much fun to see the sidewalk “stars” engraved with celebrity names from way back all the way to present day. Occasionally throughout the year, you can catch a “live” star unveiling ceremony happening right there on the street.
Paramount Pictures features a guided tram tour through soundstages and an impressive New York backlot with recognizable neighborhood backdrops, along with a prop warehouse.
Griffith Observatory is a must-see attraction at night! In addition to a planetarium show, you’ll also enjoy lots of exhibits like the Foucault pendulum and Tesla coil. After dark, you’ll want to take a good look through the refracting telescope on the roof.
Madame Tussauds Hollywood features life-like wax figures of your favorite celebrities. Allow at least 90 minutes to see all exhibits in the museum and have enough time to take lots of photos.
Lights, Camera, Action … Was Hollywood an Award-Winning Visit?
I will start with the good parts of a visit to Hollywood, California. The view of Hollywood from Loews Hollywood Hotel is like a picture-perfect postcard, a view that I could stare at for hours. The central location of the hotel made it convenient to explore all the iconic Hollywood attractions that I set out to see. Although I recommend that everyone visit Hollywood and stay at Loews Hollywood hotel for the clean, comfortable, safe, and luxurious accommodations, to be truthful, I got to see everything during my trip.
In the one visit to Hollywood, I got to see the Hollywood Sign … the Hollywood Walk of Fame … TCL Chinese Theater … Hollywood Bowl … and other fun television and movie-related historical locations. This was truly an amazing “bucket list” trip.
